Privacy Policy

At Aalekh, your privacy is our primary concern. We designed the app to ensure you maintain complete ownership of your thoughts and workflows. Because of this, Aalekh operates on a strict zero-data collection policy. This privacy policy details how the app works and why your data stays entirely yours.
1. 100% Offline-First & Local Storage
All notes, sketches, checklists, configurations, and attachments you record in Aalekh are stored locally on your device's filesystem. The app utilizes a local SQLite database. There are no remote servers, background database syncs, or hostings managed by Aalekh. Your files never leave your device unless you choose to export them.
2. Zero Personal Data Collection
We do not require you to create an account, sign in with an email, verify your phone number, or connect to any social media profile to use Aalekh. As a result, we collect, see, or transmit:
- No email addresses, names, or contact details.
- No location, device IDs, or IP addresses.
- No note contents, sketch vectors, or recorded audio files.
3. Calculations and Math Processing
Aalekh's Smart Checklist Calculator processes formulas and auto-sums (multiplying quantities by prices) entirely client-side using your local device’s CPU. This calculation parsing does not rely on any remote API or web hooks. No spreadsheet or checklist data is shared or transmitted during the calculation.
4. 100% Ad-Free Environment
Aalekh is entirely ad-free. We do not load advertising networks, tracking SDKs, or behavioral trackers. There are no third-party banner ads, full-screen video ads, or personalized search tracking cookies.
5. User-Controlled Cloud Sync & Backups
Aalekh allows you to back up your data securely, but you maintain 100% control over the process:
- JSON Database Export: You can download a complete backup of your notes as an unencrypted JSON file. This process is offline. You decide where to save or share the resulting file.
- Google Drive Sync: If you choose to enable Drive Sync, Aalekh links directly to your personal Google account. The backup database is written directly to your private Google Drive AppData folder. Aalekh has no proprietary cloud servers in between, meaning we cannot access, view, or decrypt your Google Drive files.
6. App Uninstallation and Data Deletion
Because all your notes are stored locally on your device, uninstalling or deleting the Aalekh application will immediately wipe your local SQLite database and all cached attachments from your device. If you wish to retain your notes, ensure you export a local backup (JSON) or complete a final sync to your Google Drive before uninstalling the app.
7. Policy Changes & Contact
We will never change the core privacy model of Aalekh (offline storage & no tracking). If we add optional collaborative features in the future, they will always be opt-in, with local databases remaining private.
